Carlie & Dan - A Tauranga Garden Wedding

When my cousin Carlie and her fiancé Daniel asked me to do the florals for their November wedding, I was ecstatic and completely honoured.

This was a wedding that was truly special. The ceremony took place in the garden on Carlie's parents' property, which is where she grew up. The property and gardens are beautiful, and reflect the years of work and love that have been put into them by the family. The wooden arbour the couple were married in front of was hand made by Carlie's father especially for the big day.

Carlie is a classic beauty who epitomises class and elegance, so I knew her style and the style of the wedding well. This made creating the florals an absolute dream for me. From bouquets and buttonholes, to an altar garland, greenery-covered floral chandeliers, floral crowns for the flower girls and gorgeous table flowers, this wedding did not disappoint in the flower department!

The brief for the flowers was garden picked, plenty of greenery, whites/creams with various shades of pink, and peonies were a must. Scabiosa, stock, foxgloves, snaps, sweet peas, sweet william, and jasmine were just some of the amazing flowers that were picked from her mother's and grandmother's gardens to be used on the tables - another touch that made this wedding so special.
