Private function, Whangamata Golf Club
I was invited to decorate the Whangamata Golf Club in foliage for a local logging company event. I love foliage so this was a dream for me! It was also a huge challenge due to the size of the space and the work that would need to be done to fill it. I hired trees and plants from a local company and grouped them in clusters to fill spaces around the room and create walls of foliage.
The paper lanterns are a permanent fixture at the golf club so it was my job to work with them and bring some foliage into the space above the dance floor.
I created foliage garlands to drape around the edge of the space, and at the entrance of the event, as well as some large arrangements for the entrance and to place around the room. For the tables I created foliage arrangements out of eucalyptus, euphorbia, cuscus, and tree fern.
What made this event extra amazing was that the legendary Ladykillers were the band, and I got to listen to them rehearse while I worked...seriously talented and sassy group of women!
White Party - Waihi Beach Surf Lifesaving Club
I was asked my a friend to create the flora for her White Party - a celebration of her 40th birthday, and also the successes of her business Soul Beauty Rooms.
Clients like Beckie are amazing - I had creative control and she was happy to let me do what I felt worked best. After visiting with Pauline from Illuminate Furniture in Waihi to check out the light up furniture, I decided that to go with white arrangements with a luxe feel, using Phalenopsis Orchids, anthuriums, king proteas, amaryllis, tropical foliage, and a variety of flowers that I would form clusters of in different sized vessels around the room. I added a pop of pink in several arrangements because Beckie loves her pink!
I created a large arrangement for the entrance using one of Dooley Street Styling's metal frames, and sourced white jumbo balloons to place around the room.
